The Diamonds

Of course, the diamond is the star of every piece of jewelry in the KUDIA collection. And of course the quality and the origin are of fundamental importance to us. We guarantee that our diamonds come from reputable diamond dealers, are exclusively conflict-free and are based on our values (e.g. free from child labour, fair working conditions, etc.). be dismantled.

We source our diamonds from our partners in Antwerp, the diamond capital of Belgium. We are always on site and select the diamonds ourselves by hand, which are then processed into our jewellery. As usual in the international diamond business, the 4 C's serve as a basis:

• Carat (Karat weight) – Carat is the weight of a diamond. A carat weighs 0.2 grams and equals 100 points. Caution: Carat weight is not the same as size.
• Clarity – Clarity tells you how pure a diamond is, i.e. how many or few inclusions it has. Inclusions (or nature's fingerprints as we call them) are trapped minerals. A diamond without any discernible inclusions under 10x magnification is said to be flawless.
• Colour (Farbe) - They come in all colors. For the most part, the colorless (often referred to as white diamonds) diamonds are considered the most valuable and are most commonly found in commercial jewelry. In fact, it is the very rare colored (fancy) diamonds that are the most valuable.
• cut – The cut is important so that the light is refracted correctly and the diamond can showcase its full splendor in the best possible way. A distinction is made between medium, good, very good and excellent. We only use very good cuts because the diamond is so wonderfully staged and can compete with each other to shine. The cut quality "very good" is significantly more expensive than a good or medium cut quality but essential for the radiance of the diamond.
• Confidence – we always talk about the 4 C’s, this is the standard. But we put one on top. As described at the beginning, social and ethical values are very important to us. Therefore, we strictly ensure that our diamonds come from reliable and trustworthy sources and that all social standards are observed.

Putting these C's together brings up the rarity of the stones and ultimately the price. Our diamonds are exclusively white (G-H) in a very good cut in a wide range of carat weights and a beautiful Piqué 1 clarity.
